No. It is a real game. Regardless of the substitution ruling you just invented to justify it isn't. Clubs organize these friendlies to prepare for the upcoming season. As a general rule, match fitness, sharpness, energy et al should steadily improve as the pre season goes on. Yes Genk are a couple of weeks ahead of us in their fitness as their league starts next week.

But that was poor for me. Same old same old. Slow build up. Some hit and hope crosses. Sloppy passing. Defensive errors. Same as really.
I agree, the hope is we can only get better. UEFA game should be easy enough but doubt Stoke will.

I just don't see it as something to draw conclusions from because of the subbing changing things so drastically from a competitive match. As an American I've seen the US win friendlies in Amsterdam and Germany because of the subs messing things up and I don't sit here and think the US has a prayer in competitive games with them. So I don't get the doom and gloom especially considering we looked fine against Twente the other day
