Does anybody else have a big immovable white rectangle obscuring the home page of GOT...I cant see the prediction league either ffs!...but did manage to purchase a retro track jacket circa 1984

He scored 13 goals last Season and played most of the games and most of minutes, the only other time he was used as a "sub" was at Sevilla when he scored 1 goal in 4 years, the lads clearly BOSS.

So much more to the story than that lid. Love the way people keep on referring to Sevilla as 'he's pyar gash', totally ignoring the fact that minus the years in Sevilla he has 259 appearances and 105 goals, 1 in 2.5 record is very good for any striker.

Sevilla was a mixture of first season poor, injury and then being played out of position due to the partnership of Kanoute and Louis Fabiano, who had an amazing record.

Just because people were not thrilled to see us sign him is no need to make out that he his the worlds worst footballer, because he's not. Granted he his no Messi/Ronaldo etc, but what he does give us his options and come Jan/Feb/March he'll be playing an helping hand in the team

I clearly said he was used as a "sub", im aware of how many minutes he played and his injury record whilst there, I was just saying that here its probably gonna be the same thing, unless Lukaku is injured or has a huge dip in form hes gonna be playing minutes here and there.

That doesnt appear to suit him, as was proven in Sevilla.

I wasnt bending any facts, I simply presented them.

So you are saying essentially, he needs time?

Thing with Kone is that I could forgive him for getting into positions to score and being on a bad run where he can't hit a barn door - after all, I defended Jelavic for exactly the same reason, as if the movement and intelligence is there then goals usually follow.

People slated me on here for saying the following about Jelavic, but this is Martinez talking about Kone:

“I would rather see players get in the right positions and miss the chances than do OK and not get in the area you want a striker to be in."

Perfectly true. But the problem I have with Kone is that all I've ever seen him do is turn up against poor opposition once every four or five games and score a goal, but miss three or four chances in the same game. He'll dominate for 90 minutes and disappear for a month. His work ethic and consistency seem to be lacking to me.

For me, he's a striker who has relied on a degree of pace in the past to excuse his horrific finishing ability, but now he's about to turn 30 years old and he looks every inch the player who is already past his sell-by date.

I have no reason to not give Kone a chance; but I feel we've been mugged for £6m on this one.

Gonna give the lad a better run of games before ****ging him off. My biggest gripe with him was the fee we payed not his ability.

One of those "poor opposition " last season was Everton twice Tubey -
who else could we have bought for 5-6 mil who scored 10+ goals in the PL the previous season ?
Kone was a sensible buy at the time with Lukaku not in the picture at that stage -
how many chances has Naismith had playing as a forward ?
Kone will score great goals this season - I just can't wait
