Koemoyes attitude away vs top 6

Realistically we knew what was coming at the start of the season, he's bought the best midfielders he could early to pack it against the opposition we have lined up. Striker could wait; it's not backfired we are a point above where most would of had on their coupons and hit by injuries.

I trust in this plan I think is developing but it depends if we can get a striker in next week.
It's what you might call a cunning plan ;)

Today's result isn't the end of the world but the performance, coupled with the other, admittedly more successful, performances, demonstrates that we are not going to see a very attractive brand of football this season. Some people won't care and I'm sure we'll get enough 1-0 and 2-1 victories to secure 7th again but, new striker or not, I can't see us troubling the top 4 and I think top 6 is highly unlikely. If we don't believe, and more importantly RonKo doesn't believe we can beat the current top 6 away from home (and the next couple of games will tell us if he believes we can beat them at home) then what chance do we have of overtaking them in the league?

It's incredibly small time and I was very disappointed in the tactics again today. If he doesn't replace Lukaku's goals (somehow but they knew it was coming) then the home form against the same teams will be worse this year. The away can't get much worse against the top 6

Yep.we are going to struggle for 7th, especially if we can't cope with a few games per week and throw that excuse about every time we lose

We've managed under Koeman a sum total of three points in eight away league games against the top six (two of those in the two games away v Man City).

Until this improves to something around an average of a point a game away against the top sides, we'll struggle to get into the top six let alone the top four.

Although it isn't our biggest problem, get that captain's armband off Jagielka and give it to Schneiderlin or Rooney.

The man is a loser and has been for his entire career with us.

We need some bite and players with the never-say-die attitude.

Jagielka, and Baines for that matter, have thought these type of performances are acceptable since the Moyes era.

I think this thread and some of the replies are very hysterical imo. With that said a defensive mindset cost us the win at Man City and then there was the tactics yesterday. This follows on from last season as well.So i would be a bit worried myself that Koemans mindset and attitude is too negative at the big premier league grounds. But really my issue with the starting post on this thread, is calling Wayne Rooney a midget balding powderpuff girl.Nevermind the offensive connotations a word like puff implies. But Wayne was unlucky not to score the winner for us at the Etihad last week.In general his performances have been pretty positive so far this season.Yet Wayne and the team had a bad day at the office yesterday and now he is a balding midget powderpuff girl?Give me a break. If Wayne scores a hat trick in the next game, then the people calling him a balding midget powderpuff girl will be falling at his feet in worship.Football fans sure can be fickle!

Harsh on Jags i feel calling him a loser. But yeah we need a new captain.Jag's and Baines are good lads and good Evertonians. But they represent a meek roll over on the big occasions mentality, that we need to get shot of pretty quickly.

Modern football.. eh!? Remember when you could start your teenage striker? OK that was for Everton fans over 50 who remember Graham Sharp first games and his goal against Spurs (nearly 40 years ago now).

We are ok at home against the better sides but away from home.. we carry the fight to City, United (sometimes), Spurs (sometimes) but the manner in which we lose year on year at Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea is embarrassing.
