I don’t know anything about their background. Bands like this usually get revealed a public school boys trying to look and sound hard.

I do find abhorrent is that what is happening in Gaza is being used as some sort of promotion of a career.

My kids tell me they are gash, and I trust them , so they probably get their 2 minutes and then disappear into oblivion.

Well you've got that completely arseways.

Yeah that has crossed my mind at times, although I still give them a slight benefit of the doubt as the terrorism charge was ridiculous and probably got them more attention than they wanted

Plus, in reality, dua lipa has done way more for Gaza than these guys

No, he's saying you need to read up on why 3 republicans from Belfast would be in support of the Palestinian people.
I don't. My family are Irish republicans.
Trying to make up on a lack of musical talent by using controversy is as old as the music industry
I just feel it is wrong. Others have differing opnions, which is fair enough, but it feels like a career move rather than any genuine held beliefs.

You feel that speaking out against genocide is wrong?

He isn't saying that, he is saying it's becoming their schtick which they are using to boost their careers

There is a very legitimate argument that their career has had an upward turn because of it, even if that's an indirect effect

They've been consistent with their beliefs and it matches up with who they are and where they are from.

I don't doubt there are people who jump on these types of bandwagons for clout, but just because one of their talking points becomes a political hot-potato, it doesn't mean that they should drop it in fear of being accused of cashing in. I've said the same about Bob Vylan, who also have been consistent in their messaging.

Also, if the argument is based in "I don't rate their music, therefore I think they're lying" that's pretty weak tbh

I would hope people speak out, sincerely against genocide. and terrorism of all kinds.

Like I said controversy as a marketing tool is as old as the hills. I'm old enough to remember the Pistols and the Queens jubilee.
I might just be that bit cynical.
