True,they will not be dictated to.
99% of the manifestants on the streets are peaceful demonstrators.
Problem is that the demos are infiltrated by the ''casseurs'',the breakers. Authorities claim these to be young extreme left wing anarchists.
However it has been commented that the troubles only seem to kick off when the CRS arrive on the scene.

And despite militancy within the French even by our own ONS figures French economy is more productive. Retired earlier averaged 35 hrs a week.
Cannot condone violence. Although the need to get everyone to work from cradle to grave is also unacceptable. I'm all for those who do not want to replicate the slavish Anglo work is everything ethic.

There is no moral blackmail in France about going on strike or bring seen on a demo.
Contrast with the veiled threats we got from the company during the miners strike and later during the poll tax demos in 1989.
On strike for a day or going on a march,''not good for yourself career prospects' ''potential troublemaker '' etc.

Surely must be that act of rebellion that brought about the revolution that still runs deep in the French cultural psychology. Something that should be admired and i'm rather jealous.

Strange that females retire earlier in France, I always thought that was inexcusably sexist growing up when it was law in UK.
Surely an equalling up of retirement age would assist the French economy and strike a blow for gender equality.
