Except that Clarkson is not a heavyweight political person, nor is he someone on whom people hang on his every word. He is a comedian who plays for fun on TV and in his writings. Anyone who would take him seriously is an idiot. He should not have apologised because it was just him being Clarkson. It was the apology that allowed all the usual suspects to jump on their high horses and ride towards the moral high ground……

But neither is a domestic violence employee mate.

Like I'm done with live and let live, but if we are going to get offended, it needs to be done consistently.

The bloke’s also a misogynist and it seems those of all political colour, many right wing pundits and even his own daughter Can see it however he does have his own ‘particular’ support group . I don’t think it’s hard to understand from his writings that his a misogynist and his actions identify him as a bully . Punching down physically and professionally because they won’t bring you hot food and I know you know that and for all my glib comments I know absolutely you wouldn’t tolerate that both in your former role or in your pub.

Im not remotely surprised, I’m a little surprised it got through editorial review and yet at the same time it got such a reaction as I’m sure he felt he was pushing an open door given the topic .

There is as a bloke who was on the celebrity reality circuit for years called Stephen Bear whose just been convicted of revenge porn , posting it on a monetised sex site. years ago a journalist wrote that his fanbase and more importantly tv he executives were creating a monster . To a much lesser but still relatable extent clarkson isn’t much different , he’s a cash cow and the media enable him . I don’t take him seriously I think he’s pretty contemptible a view it seems some of his family share but many blokes particularly of ‘our’ generation lap it up.

Aside from this just being whataboutery, the examples it goes through of stuff said by various left wing comics, were all covered at the time.

To just take the Jo Brand one, there was a massive outcry at the time, Brand apologised, the BBC actually took the joke out of the programme on the iPlayer (censorship), the BBC later ruled it as a breach of their guidelines, and a quick Google shows the Mail wrote about it in at least 5 separate articles on different days.

A dreadful article, which is just a massive exercise in changing the subject by saying, “but look over there!”.

Nah. All of that is mere cover for the "establishment", making it seem like these things are "normal" no matter what you do. The poor will always be with us, basically.
