2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Good talk man.

Fact of the matter is the game is simple and also massively complex at the highest level. And while yes, the basics do matter and Everton is really great at those, there is more to it. We get the attitude right most weeks. We play hard, stay organized, defend set plays, and graft our way through it every week. It’s huge. There’s that other part at this level where we’re not all the way there. We’re not even really trying to get there. And to me that means the bottom can always fall out.
What team in the PL most represent the kind of football you want to see?

I know the question was to our American friend who by his statements doesn't appear to understand football but it's a great question.

I have to say I've been underwhelmed by the quality on display in the PL.

Teams don't seem to want to take a risk. Arsenal first half of the season were good. 2nd half a disgrace with playing for free kicks and corners. City's possession based football is slow and turgid at times , less so when Doku plays.
At times Bournemouth play some exciting attacking football but can't defend.
No one seems to have the balance of being able to defend well but to move the ball at pace when attacking.
The elite European teams are far more watchable. Bayern would be my pick.

I agree. The PL at the moment does not always marry effectiveness with entertainment.
Everton's style under Moyes is proving effective by our recent standards and besides wanting to see a few more minutes for the likes of Dibling, George and Aznou I really can't criticise the direction we are going, and looking, which is up.
Also not completely devoid of entertainment. Its like Dycheball is forgotten already

And once again we’re back to “yeah but the result” in a conversation that is specifically framed as not being about the results. Clockwork.
There’s no “yeah but” from me.

I agree football is a results driven business and if we win a game then I’d say, looking at the facts, yeah we’ve done enough to win that game.
