DCL is clearly better with a strike partner. Hard to compare the lone striker of today with a guy like Sharp who was always paired with an Andy Gray or Lineker, or others.

True it can't be taught,but acquired through experience.My only problem with DCL at the moment is that he doesn't harness his obvious pace and physical attributes with some controlled aggression....but wait,that's a full page on the Dowell thread discussing DCL.
He will if we actually get a decent manager who knows what he’s got. So far he’s had Koeman, Allardyce & Silva to contend with.

Whatever their flaws (and there are plenty), we can’t levy criticism at them for not choosing Dowell to play for us mate. He’s nowhere near this level yet.

....financially made for life, he’ll have a career in the game, he’s only in his 2nd season of league football, he could eventually fit into a top level team.
Have a sense of proportion; He’s made it. He’s hardly a failure.
