Kevin was never a consistant player but he was once able to produce game changing moments, freightening pace and goals in certain games.
I haven't seen that type of performane once this season though he's undoubtly upped his work-rate for RK.
I can only imagine we've given this declining winger who'll be 30 in October a contract extention to avoid paying the transfer fee it would take to replace him.
That's not to say he won't be valuable as a squad player next season especially with the extra games we'll play.

Plenty of use in him. Should start every cup match, and if we use Rom we'll probably need him up front in those matches. Especially in Europe to get in behind defenses with his pace.

But he never gets in behind defences!! He never goes on the outside, always cuts in and shoots at the near post or sticks up a poor cross.

Its a miracle that Lukaku scored so many with Miralles on one side nad Barkley on the other!!

This whole season I thought was really poor from him. Always thought he was the one of the best free kick takers and/or finishers at the club. Less than 5 goals is a really really poor return from someone getting as much as he is.

I think you answered the reason for his extension, though not the one you think. Kevin still has value as depth next year.

It is pretty obvious there are loads of deadwood. McGeady, Deulofeu and Lennon (hope he gets well soon btw) etc (wingers) and many others left over by the previous regime. I won't sell Mirallas this season no way.
