Kevin Mirallas

Blind has played in 36 games this season (all competitions Dave) not 45

Both of them are squad players, we have europa next season with possibly an extra 10-15 games coming that season, we have gotten rid of some of the absolute dross we had and still have some to shift this summer - which will leave the squad really thin on numbers, even with a very good summer of recruitment, players like mirallas will still be needed for a fair amount of games, and rightly so.
Sorry yeah, I added the internationals.

I think it;s wishful thinking though to see Mirallas as some player we turn to when one of the 'numerous quality signings we get this summer' have to be rested in certain domestic cup and European games.

He will be a core player for us. As you highlight, he played 2/3rds of this season. That is by definition a core first team player and I dont expect that to change. He would have got assurances about that.

It's not like it's mark pembridge is it ffs he's a proven good Player and we need a squad, he's settled and he hates Liverpool win win.

Mark Pembridge was a good proven player...

Not to everyone's tastes admittedly but he had a solid top flight career.

He could actually take a corner too unlike our current lot.

It really isn't though, all it highlights is several years of terrible recruitment in the positions he can play meaning he gets more games than he should be.

Lennon (obvious lad has some serious problems and not been seen since February), McGeady - terrible and shipped off on loan, Deulofeu - shipped off on loan (not suited to the system or league), Bolasie - done his knee, DCL (playing too many games already - which further highlights how short we are), Lookman (struggling to settle in the north west from things i heard)

I'd say with that competition around him mate, only playing 2/3rds of the games would illustrate that he isn't seen as any form of answer - just the best of a very mixed bag of misfits lol

He started their last game and scored

Next

A friendly.

He came on in the 84th minute against Greece in the last competitive game...and late on against Estonia and Gibralter and Bosnia and didn't get on at all against Cyprus.

He's a bit part peripheral player for Belgium. No question.

Yes he is a squad player for them Dave

Mirallas is the type of player that Pochettino got rid of at Tottenham within 2 years, if we want to get where they are we should be doing the same, not rewarding them for being inconsistent and lazy.

We can't sell the entire team and buy a complete new squad. Kev will be a useful squad player with the extra European games next season.

Think this has been rubbished mate.

Sure the lad will probably be a tad home sick - that's only natural - but he's settled in really well with the squad. He'll be better off with a full pre-season under his belt. He's only 19.

With the extra games we face he is a good squad player to have along with the new signings. No player is assured of anything if they don't perform, it's pathetic to suggest otherwise because the manager would be putting his own job on the line if the team isn't performing.

You've just described a mediocre player. Why should we settle for mediocre players even as squad players? Mirallas only plays when he feels like it- not good enough for me.
We cant ship out the whole squad and go buy a whole new one so he is one of the mediocre players i would keep. There is worse there we need to move out first. Anyone we bring in should go straight into first 11.
