one of the posts above reminded me of something...

Can someone explain to me how Jim Beglin - a guy who played for Liverpool, and had his playing career ended by a broken leg in a derby - ends up commentating on every merseyside derby game? Not like he's going to be exactly impartial.

The studio contained Jake Humphreys, Steve McManamann, David Ginola and Neil Warnock, whilst the commentators were Jim Beglin, Michael Owen and somebody else.

There's a reason they call it LFCTV, not one blue to give an insight from our end, laughable

Remember when he sprayed Wilshere with the water bottle and he freaked out? It's kind of entertaining having a little bit of snide in our team, but not a horrowshow of a human being like Suarez.

Defo a red. But it wasn't, so it isn't, because it was on Suarez. Anyone who thinks that a jumping, studs up, waist high lunge isn't a red needs to take their eye patch off.

meh, it was a strikers challenge. He went for the ball, suarez got a touch which took it away and swiveled in one motion unintentionally into the raking studs. Not everybody is going to get every single tackle right, whether it be on the ground or knee height. They're all suppose to be men out there playing a contact sport, if they're scared to take a couple of studs to the knee and a couple of knocks, especially in a derby, they shouldn't be out there.

People don't even get red cards for punches in rugby, why should football continue to turn into a pansy sport. I'd much rather see a game where people get yellows for those kind of challenges, than red cards for what wes brown got today, which will become more evident every time someone doesn't get a tackle spot on.

HAHA, i'm sorry i can't agree it was a red, given the occasion and the players involved, i'll never admit that should have been a red card :)

Aye, I don't think it should be a red if football hadn't become so soft, but it has. What I mean is, they're given a lot, rightly or wrongly.

I'm glad Mirallas did it too by the way, I just wish he'd got him better.

here here, can't believe none of the other lads gave suarez a nice nudge on the knee cap a few times, just subtly, every 50/50 etc, leave it a bit in there. doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out. They had 5 shots on target all game, he had 3 of them.

Liverpool have got away with far worse tackles than that in merseyside derbies gone by, they have no leg to stand on in this manner. Then again, they're not real football fans, they're either a murderer, a wool or Scandinavian who chose that club rather than let it choose them, NEA what they think about most things, just like laughing at them.

i am fully aware that i am not a scouse evertonian :D, but i didn't choose my football team

At times I've felt like I'd do time for a couple of minutes with Suarez in a cage or something, never been so riled up by a person I've never met before, it's worse than Chico vs Phil Taylor for me.

Morning papers giving Mirallas's attempt to rid the game of vermin getting a good go from the pro-Kopite hacks.

It's almost like they're trying to conceal that their beloved "title chasing" Liverpool got their arses smacked in a Derby for the bulk of the game by a pacy aggressive Everton team. In fact, it's exactly like that.

If we all chip in can we 3d print a statue of it to place in a prominent position somewhere ?

...Mirallas was clearly fortunate to stay on the pitch. We are not in denial. What was funny was rodger's after match interview when he said had it been the other way around suarez would've seen red. Wasn't Rodgers at last seasons match. Also, suarez had a yellow yesterday and should've seen another when he pulled one of our lads back when counter-attacking, no comment from red camp on that one.

I've been winding up my red friends by saying " The FA will ban Mirallas for that challenge " Knowing full well they can't do anything about it as he was booked.

Rodgers on Suarez from last season's derby...

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers defended his striker - claiming the tackle was mistimed rather than malicious.
"I didn't think it was a red card," he said. "Sometimes you get that with a striker, when they are just a fraction late. They are trying to time it just as they pass it."
