Kevin Mirallas

It was a red all day long. About time something broke our way in a derby. Shame Suarez's leg didn't break too, but I think it did the job as he was pretty kack after that. I never like to hear about career ending injuries, but some reports about a players never playing again I am happy to read

Did enjoy seeing Mirallas nasty side today. We always get bullied by the rs

When we signed him, many (myself included) mentioned that it's great that he has that little bit of snide in him. That little bit of NEAness and arrogance that gives a player (and his team) an edge. It's the trait that Suarez has in absolute truckloads - more than any player I've ever seen. Players like this aren't even slightly fazed by the big occasion (like we've unfortunately seen with many Everton teams and players alike in the past). They love to play in derbies and revel in the atmosphere - the more hostile the better.

He's going to be a good player for us in derbies, I reckon. The fact that they all hate him is a good sign.

That drove me mad - it was when Suarez slid in on Mirallas at the touchline - was a fair challenge but mirallas jumped to avoid contact as Suarez slid under him - He was always going to land back on him due to the law of gravity.

They then spent the next few minutes showing replays and deciding that Kev prob didn't intend to stamp on him !!!!!!! but may have been lucky not to get a second yellow

They hilariously ended the whole conversation by saying something like "taking a chance with a challenge like that when you've been booked already" despite the fact he was the one being tackled and was simply jumping out of the way.

Defo a red. But it wasn't, so it isn't, because it was on Suarez. Anyone who thinks that a jumping, studs up, waist high lunge isn't a red needs to take their eye patch off.

one of the posts above reminded me of something...

Can someone explain to me how Jim Beglin - a guy who played for Liverpool, and had his playing career ended by a broken leg in a derby - ends up commentating on every merseyside derby game? Not like he's going to be exactly impartial.

it didnt look too bad from the angle the ref saw it. There is a camera angle that had a similar view. If the ref would have had a view like the main camera angle Kev would've been preening himself in the shower before the others. Worth the risk, we've been asking for any player to do it for some time. Kev owed him for last season. My money is on the milkman to do the same at the pit

In fairness, Suarez ought to just be grateful that it was Mirallas who went for revenge, rather than Distin. He'd still be lying in pieces all over Goodison.

If it hadn't been midnight for me and the rest of the family asleep I would have screamed abuse - as it was I muttered to myself and shook my fist with righteous fury :)
