Ok, I hear you, I have oodles of hope also. And yes, this guy obviously knew 'something' before anyone else.

But if a doctor called you from the hospital and said that your wife was brought in and died, only for you to find out an hour later that she'd just broken her leg, would "well, we got the name right! We clearly didn't just make the whole thing up." be good enough?
I think that's a bad analogy. Given the mystery surrounding Everton transfer dealings, to pull out a name from nowhere and then have it all over papers and interviews with said player requires information.

It's off because it was never on in the first place. Right from the off Arsenal were in the mix and Olympiakos and the player were and are desperate to go there.

The OP said it was signed and sealed. That was a balls on the table statement that gave us hope - especially as he's got a 1 in 2 success rate. But this has never been really on has it?

Possibly the most bizarre statement you've ever made....

I could list a bunch of reasons why it is pretty obviously coomon knowledge now that it was/is on.....but whats the point?

I thought saturday and still think saturday.

I'm guessing the delay is over the fee, and how much upfront etc. We are never especially quick to sort this. Jelavic took a few days, Pienaar a couple of months. My memory isnt good enough for any other cash signings!

I know where you're coming from mate, but as Tubey said he's clearly worded it poorly. Or even got ahead of himself.

But you can't deny his information is top notch. His interpretation, maybe not.

I'm not trying to insult LCAB either like, but there's that many people saying that many things that I'm just going to put the lad who told us about this transfer in the first place at the top of the pile.

It isn't off, but it does seem to be in the balance, and that may be because him and his agent would prefer a move to a club like Arsenal.

But as others have already stated, it doesn't exactly seem like Arsenal are desperate to get him.

Actually it's hard to tell whether or not this is ruled out by LCAB, being cryptic, saying that EFC's schedule was for him to have a medical today, but we'll see as you would think Arsenal being interested would make them favourites. Let's not have a go at LCAB whilst he's not here to defend himself though, eh? he's been a well respected poster on this site before and there's no need for some lids getting on his back.

Don't do this to yourself.

Strange, incorrect statement there. If you mean it was never "realistic" then I could at least see something valid in that post, but still...

I can't agree with you at all about Neville but I'm inclined to agree with you here.

He, like anyone without ties to Everton, would surely rather go to Arsenal.

But if they're not that arsed about him, and we are (clearly) then hopefully he'll come here.

I think it's a beautiful analogy. I worked all morning on that. How dare you? *sobs*

The fee from the Van Persie deal will be made available to Wenger but, having already spent £35 million this summer on recruiting Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla, he will give his new signings their chance to impress before deciding whether to buy another striker.
Giroud, who was the top scorer in the French league last season, is expected to start as the main central striker against Sunderland tomorrow, with Podolski to his left and Walcott to his right. Cazorla is likely to play behind Giroud in Cesc Fabregas’s old ‘playmaker’ position.

“The economic part of it is the only satisfaction. But money doesn’t go out on the field and play, players do. It will give more chance to Giroud. When Van Persie is here, his name is the first on the teamsheet and the others follow. So there’s a void to fill. It’s up to whoever wants to seize their chance.â€

Hardly sounds like they are in for a striker

Arsenal or whoever, he wont end up at Everton. If he does, it'll be after all other avenues have been explored and he and Olympiakos are stuck with the realisation that no other club wants to take a chance.

As for DAVIDMOYES: it sounds harsh I know, but if you come on and drop a no frills dramatic statement and it doesn't work out then it's pretty much all credibility lost. There are ways and means of diseminating info and this wasn't a clever way of doing it...or indeed fair on others he must know are desperate.
