Kevin Mirallas on why he chose the Blues over Arsenal

Actually from what I have read from people in france, he came to France with big hyped and failed big time and has something like 3 goals in 55 games. And lets be honest now, the greek league is extremely poor and uneven. Yes there is 2 good team there, but the mid table and lower teams and at best league 1 teams and thats the truth. Alot of belgium fans also dont rate him that much at all.....I think you guys have build him up to be something he's not and are in for disappointment

I think most of us are building him up to be exactly what he is.

The teds thinking we've got the Belgian Ronaldo are obviously going to be disappointed, but I for one have done my research and have seen him enough to know his pros and cons.

Pros: Fast, two-footed, versatile, skilful, eye for goal
Cons: Sometimes selfish, not as defensively aggressive as most of our players

Moyes should be able to iron out the kinks and his basic attributes are very exciting to us. You, as an Arsenal fan, will be more accustomed to flair players and thus perhaps a bit less excitable. But lad this is an Everton forum, so be bear that in mind when posting please.

Does anyone know if he actually played as a striker in france or if we was a winger? If so its the latter he may not have been that much of a flop.
Also some players do develop a bit later than others. If u look at jelavics goal record at hadjuc split (8 in 35) and wargem (3 in 23), he wasnt that prolific. He actually got better as he moved on to better standards in austria, scotland and england.
Another factor is how well they fit into the club. Good example is pienarr who struggled at dortmund and spurs but just works well for us.
Theres no way of knowing until he actually gets a run of games. I for one hope we finally have a good right winger for the first time since andrei

I agree. I've long since ceased to make formative assessments of incoming players. I just Moyes' better judgement. The only thing I knew of Jelavic was that he scored a few cracking overhead kicks for Rangers. He turned out to be the best forward we've had since Rooney. I know even less about Mirallas. I'm just going to trust Moyes and give him all the support I can when he plays.

We desperately need a proper right-winger and this guy fits that mould perfectly. We got him for a good price and he isn't coming into the team to be our best player, but to fit into a system. He is lighting quick and very skilful on the ball, we don't have a player like that at the moment so let us just be happy we have more variety in the midfield and forward line.

He also doesn't have to score 20 goals. Everton had more goal-scorers than any other Premier League side last season so we have a capable side. Naismith can score, as well as Pienaar, Jelavic, and Gibson having full seasons at the club.

The only problem with Mirallas is that if he doesn't play enough he might kick up a stink.

We'll have promised him game time when we approached him. He will get a lot of time on the pitch. Moyes generally gives his big money signings more than their fair crack of the whip in their first year. Bily being an exception as he was exceptionally average.
