It's quite refreshing that Martinez's side don't seem to be afraid of anyone and are aiming to finish as high as possible whilst Moyes, with all his riches at United, is trying to manage expectation and is telling their fans to expect more defeats and CL elimination.

It's nice for us to arrive in such a position at this moment but we must try to maintain it as long as we can to keep going and see if we can improve on the last seasons.

Yes, yes...but FFS - "4th"?!

I see no reason why we cant finish in the top 4.

I thought the first 11 was good enough last Season and now we have an actual striker who can strike.

We "missed" out by around 10 points last Season, a Striker who can score goals will easily get us the "missing" points.

As Captain Sensible once said, You got to have a dream, if you dont have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true.

As with everything, it will be decided by luck, injuries, sh1t refs and life on Mars.

Best top flight total number of points we've had for the past 25 years was the 65 points Moyes' outfit notched up in 2007/08...that would have left us 8 points adrift of a 4th spot last season.

Everything's possible, but it's highly unlikely.

We'll go through a slump (or slumps) sometime this season. I see it as a bedding in one. If we get top 6th/7th I'd be delighted.

And we're now playing better football and have a better team.

I bet at Christmas in 2004 you were laughing at the suggestion we could finish 4th as well.

Oh and another thing. It's giving this kind of belief to your players that is the difference between winning an FA Cup with Wigan and winning nothing in 11 years with Everton.
