Kevin Doyle

this rumour further proves how mediocre we've become. I miss Arteta, Pienaar, Lescott and Fernandes. We could have been class :(

Where were these four players when we signed them? Struggling or not playing, unproven or never tested.
Were they in the public eye? No. Not one of them were
Were SSN fapping themselves silly over them? Don't be silly
Did Evertonians question the signings at the time? Yes they did

End result, 4 great players and about £25m of profit in a time where money is king and we haven't got any.

Why therefore should a proposed signing from another Premier League side reflect upon our mediocrity?

Doyle is in the Republic of Ireland setup. They are not the best national team, and I know there are not a lot of them to choose from, but he's a decent player and on a budget would likely do a better job than our current strike force.

hes class.

plus a very good player. in fact, moyes' perfect striker. good touch, holds ball up excellently, runs channels with excellent work rate and can stick it away. I'd be delighted

Only the bits i didnt highlight are right about him!. He's not class, not very good and certainly isnt prolific, not IMO anyway. Even though Fletcher as done well for Wolves this season, Doyle as been prefered to him in games and still not got the goals. Fletcher is alot better player but cos Doyle is a worker he does get prefered.

For me im a believer in picking strikers that get goals, not strikers that are work horses and dont get in good goalscoring positions due to there work rate outside of the opposition area.

Why do you think the likes of Beattie, Yak, AJ and Becks didnt get on so well at us, they were all good goalscorers in there own right but yet Moyesy turned or tried to turn them into workers who run the channles and harras the opposition which led them to being away from the opposition penalty area most of the time and not in with a chance of scoring.

Some times you've got to sacrifice hard work upfront for people who can just do the business. Dont get me wrong i dont want to see a lazy cnut that does nothing but id much rather see my strikers do there work, running and things between the width of the opposition penalty area so they can get in the box and finish off chances!.

But thats just me.

moyes has told people close to the club there is money for a forward, so if there is no signing come tuesday , get ready for the porkys to come flooding out the club wed morning

he could do a job up front and even in a 4-4-2 he could bring the best out of saha, Anichebe,Strq, Vellios, or who ever
is up front with him or 4-5-1 with Cahill behind him.

he is not as good as goalscorer as Robbie Keane but he can make goals plus he might not be to bad from set pieces
don't think he would be on a big wage like to see him coming into the club.

I expect nothing less from Kenwright and co.

Infact, I'd expect us to sell someone on the deadline day an hour before the deadline, for them to bank it in the Caymans, only for the club to then try and portray this as forward thinking "investment" in the playing squad.

FFS.

WHERE ARE THE "REPLACEMENTS"? FFS
