Because of how the Russian season works he's contracted until 31st Dec 2013. Last January CSKA wanted £12.3m but Lazio would only offer £4.9m plus a player in exchange. It's difficult to judge but he can't be worth more than about £6m in January. However, if everyone is waiting for him to become available on a bosman the Russia's may decide to take any offer rather than risk losing him for nothing.

Dunno if player for player has happened for a good long while, it looks as though Heitinga is as good as gone though. Honda and Forren with us departing with about 4 or 5 million and Heitinga sounds good buisness to me.
