They don't need a defensive mid. Alex Song is excellent. Fellaini is better, but Arsene's not going to splash big cash full stop. Never mind splash big cash in positions that don't need strengthening.
 

He didn't look all that good today, losing possesion before their penalty and not making an effort to come back and help out on the defensive side.

I'm pretty sure that we'll see him bossing midfields again soon though.
 
Cue announcement of his new contract being signed, i bet you this week it happens.
 

How on earth do we expect players like Felli to commit to the club when we perform as we have done in the transfer window just gone ?

Looking back on whats happened , its a minor miracle Jags is still an Everton player .

Yeah, i think that as well, especially after last night, taking into accounts the previous sales we have banked £23m+ quid

£10m Mikel
£3m Beckford
£2m Nsiala
£2m Yak ( +£1m loan fee)
Vaughan was alleged £3m
Pienaar was alleged £3m
 

Contracts aren't worth the paper there written on, if they offer him a big pay rise he will take it, then clear off when he finally fancies playing champions league football.

Which if we can't even begin to match his ambitions, is totally acceptable.
