We have a group of young inexperienced players in our reserves, the natural progression at "the club who give youth a chance" is that they get game time in the Premierleague with the aim of intergrating them full time into the squad.

Ideally that game time comes in the shape of sub appearances to start with progressing to the odd start, maybe a run of a few games to actually give them a chance to prove themselves. 10 mins away to Arsenal doesn't do that.

Of course i love the way you picked up on those 7 games from AF's post yet ignored the other examples (Fulham, Sunderland). Sure, there's no easy safe way to bring young inexperienced players through without risk but thats a managers job, to find ways of doing so. If when the regular experienced players are on a run of poor form with 1 win in 7 "the club that give youth a chance" might actually do that rather than persist with a crock and a past it player.
.
Again LOLZ.

I picked the 7 games because that formed the bulk of Artetafans post. As I pointed out earlier, during those 7 games Vellios played in 5 and Coleman and Rodwell played in all of them. How many young inexperienced players do you want in the side against the top teams - more than three?

As regards Sunderland and Fulham, I don't think playing kids is the right thing to do in the run in to the season. Having said that Barkley, Coleman and Gueye all played in those games so the point just doesn't stand.

"The club that give youth a chance" would do that when resting first teamers for an FA cup game. We didn't. "The club that give youth a chance" would do that when we were 4-0 up at home. We didn't.
We are not a club who can rest players for the FA Cup it is too important to us - nevertheless, Barkley, Coleman and Vellios all played in the 5th round against Fulham. Gueye played in the 6th round. Coleman and Gueye both played in the semi. Your point just doesn't stand up.

Very few, they are not the games to be playing young inexperienced players in unless we have no choice, which is why Vellios and Coleman played so they aren't the right games to be using as examples of not playing young inexperienced players and i'm not arguing against it.

so young inexperienced players shouldn't play against Man City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Fulham
Chelsea
Man Utd
Newcastle

but nor should they play in the run in to the season? When the hell should they play? Christmas alright for you?

Haha ,we rested players for a league game before the FA cup game is what i said(remember that certain 3-0 loss), and we still didn't play any young inexperienced players in it.

Young inexperienced players playing due to injuries and not though choice hardly counts. Playewrs who have had numerous top flight appearances in the past don't count ala Rodwell and Coleman

I'll say it again : Junior starting tonight is the right thing to do. Junior getting some appearances in the next few league games, preferably subs first then maybe a start is the right thing to do. Junior getting appearances whilst Neville sits on the bench is giving youth a chance. Junior not playing in the league unless we have an injury crisis isn't giving youth a chance.

He was so lightweight that I though the wind would blow him away at times, but despite being abysmal he wasn't the worst player on the pitch. That accolade goes to Naismith all day.

he has had forty five minutes coming back off an injury, in a disjointed team playing ****e , give the kid a bloody chance will you

Yeah, he looked out of his depth but I hope he gets more minutes under his belt.

Remember fellanis first few performances?

Totally agree with that, people have been saying he should get a chance instead of Neville ( While giving him **** ) and now we turn on Junior.

Give him a chance, it was debut FFS.
