Just from reading a few of his blogs mate, Mata comes across as the not very typical player, as in has a bit of a brain, and apparently is a super nice guy as well, wouldn't surprise me if after calming down he's just accepted what happened and what it likely means, kinda like yeah i thought as much would happen again, oh well, life goes on

As has been blatantly obvious to anybody expect for the extreme pessimists on here, Mata is third string at United. Jose doesnt want him, but doesnt want to appear to be the bad guy, so he needs Mata to request to leave. Mata's choice now is does he have enough respect for himself to want to go somewhere where he is #1, or will tuck his tail between his legs and end his career over the next year or two.
