No idea if there's any truth. But I don't think there is any better option out there for £15m, who would be happy to come here knowing they aren't an automatic starter.

Our other forwards are around 23, Tosun will be moving on, Kean may well be sold after his loan. I really think this is a good move. If King wasn't motivated by coming here to play for Carlo and with James, then I'd be very surprised.

I am fairly ambivalent about the transfer, but would be pleased if he came in certainly. You are right too, at £15m he is a solid option. We were quoted 50m and apparently happy to go to £25m at that point. He hasn't become a bad player overnight. He's quite flexible and can play across the front and if something happened to DCL he would be a decent "like for like" replacement in terms of size.

Id leave it in all honesty, we have enough and this is just reaching, i dont see us doing this deal in a full market, so i dont think we should. Brooks though id be all over.

He would be playing for a much, much better team.
I don't think his playing career deserves a big move, he's not good enough. he is where he should be, a Bournemouth sized team where 8 goals is acceptable, we have been trying for years to get better strikers who could hit double figures, they don't grow on trees but this is very much settling for second best. Again though we need it I guess.

Don't think it'll happen. Still haven't been able to shift the likes of Bolasie and Besic off the books first.
I think Bolasie could offer us just as much as King personally and he's here already. Slightly different players but people are using the fact King can play out wide so why not.

He would be coming in to bolster the squad though, not be the main man. All sides sign players to strengthen their depth, not everybody is going to come in and light up the league. It's all about value for me. If we can get him at a decent price and wage then he'd be a very good addition, if you're talking £20m and £80k a week then swerve it. I think people are getting a bit ahead of themselves to be honest; we're a midtable side, not everybody we sign is going to be at James' level.

Oh come on now, nobody has suggested everyone is James level have they, literally nobody. Like I say above, he's no better than Bolasie.

He has never played with a footballing god like James Rodriguez though.

If we are interested in him (and I'm not convinced we are) then we will have to trust that Ancelotti and Brands see that he has the requisite skills to step up another gear for us.

Judging a player on stats when there is no relation to the two clubs other than them both having 11 players on the pitch is not the way to go. There are countless instances where we (or other clubs) have thought "what are we signing him for?" only for the signing to turn out well, Kevin Campbell, Kevin Kilbane and Idrissa Gueye are three just off the top of my head.

Not every player needs to be a superstar.

Suddenly I am expecting everyone to be superstars apparently. Hang on while i look for the bits inbetween superstar and rubbish.

Not in so many words, but there have been plenty of people saying 'signings should be good enough to push your first choice down the pecking order'. Anybody currently good enough to push Richarlison and DCL down the pecking order is not far off James' level. You don't have to literally use the exact words to convey the same meaning. And obviously everyone's welcome to their opinion but yours seems a bit mad i'll be honest with you.

For 15m I think he'd be a cracking option.

League Cup, FA Cup, League matches with busy winter schedules during a time where players have had their shortest pre season ever so at some point will Pribbaky hit the wall.....yep I'd take him.... unless we don't then I never wanted him in the first place.

Sign tonight, come off the bench on Saturday and slot the 6th in our 6-1 victory against the rs

Perfect

My opinions seem mad, because I don't rate King, care to elaborate oh wise one. Also you improve the squad by buying first team ready players, if you buy back ups your first team never improves.

I thought Carlo had told him he's surplus to requirements ? Could be wrong like.
