1 in 3 record in the PL and coming to us as a back up striker. Desperate to come here (Carlo likes this) can’t see many strikers with a record like that, who’d be willing to come as a bench warmer.

He isnt really 1 in 3 though. 48 in 161 prem apps. But he took plenty of pens.

3 of his 6 last year were pens.
5 of his 12 the season before.
2 of 8 before that
2 of 16 before that
0 of 6 before that.

That season of 16 is impressive in 2016/2017. The rest isnt particularly inspiring. Take out his pens (as we don't need him as a pen taker) and he has 36 in 161 which is 1 in 4.5.

If you go by mins per goal, with his pens he is 1 every 251 mins, without pens is 1 every 335. Both worse than tosun and kean. So we already have a striker like that who is happy to stay and play.

United wanted him last window, so he obviously has something. Would I want him starting every game for us......probably not. But I’ll come back to my original point, who else can we attract that is better to come as a back up and affordable?

Taking goals and raw mathematics out of the equation, King can run fast which automatically makes him better suited to our style of play and more useful than Tosun.

Impressive goal tally’s those, particularly as he plays on the flank.

All right, let's spend more money on a nearly 29 year old who will come to be a sub, then have zero resale value as he hasn't played enough and is into his 30s. We set up to give the ball to DCL at the 6 yard box, I dont care if tosun is sprinting down the wings. DCL is scoring from one touch shots, in the box, is king better than tosun at doing that? I doubt it.

Just don't see the point in wasting more money on a player that in a years time, everyone will be wanting gone for not being good enough.

Some quality goals in there. I've watched 4 minutes of that and I'm fairly certain he'll bag 25 goals for us just by being a squad player.
Never really rated himself, but as a cheap squad option I don't see the problem.

Hes not gonna win awards, but what he will do is give us an option all across the front, which is what most people have been crying out for after Kean and Walcott left.

Sure he's not the only player available, but we don't have vast options.

If worst came to the worst I'm not even totally against Tosun, but ideally I want him punted 1st January.

15m or so, cheapish wages, whats not to like?

People talking about resale, nobody cares about resale with Allan, he's come in, done a job and who cares what he's worth in 3 years, that's the job I see King doing.
