Confirmed Signing Josh King

All right, let's spend more money on a nearly 29 year old who will come to be a sub, then have zero resale value as he hasn't played enough and is into his 30s. We set up to give the ball to DCL at the 6 yard box, I dont care if tosun is sprinting down the wings. DCL is scoring from one touch shots, in the box, is king better than tosun at doing that? I doubt it.

Just don't see the point in wasting more money on a player that in a years time, everyone will be wanting gone for not being good enough.

But Tosun wouldn’t be in the box, he’d be chugging his arse from the half-way line. Who cares about resale value anyway if they help the team achieve their goals in the present? A.K.A. the only time frame that matters.

Never really rated himself, but as a cheap squad option I don't see the problem.

Hes not gonna win awards, but what he will do is give us an option all across the front, which is what most people have been crying out for after Kean and Walcott left.

Sure he's not the only player available, but we don't have vast options.

If worst came to the worst I'm not even totally against Tosun, but ideally I want him punted 1st January.

15m or so, cheapish wages, whats not to like?

People talking about resale, nobody cares about resale with Allan, he's come in, done a job and who cares what he's worth in 3 years, that's the job I see King doing.

I think he's a decent player and worth signing not just for the above things you've mentioned, but because I think he's half decent. 12m or thereabouts and if he can contribute 7/8 goals (which is more than Walcott and Kean combined and probably even Bernard combined) he'll be worth the punt.

Look at some of the finishes (genuinely) some excellent finishes there and he'd be a great option imo for games

We'd all love a top end striker (not just for back up but someone who really pushes dcl) but needs must. The midfield has been boxed off, central defence boxed off, they've took a punt on a keeper which was worth it imo and this deal is a no brainer imo as well.

Fair enough. If he comes, I hope he does well and with better players around him, he probably will but I just think we should be looking elsewhere (I dont watch the championship so couldn't tell you who) but our transfer strategy recently has been someone for the first 11, or a young player as back up/to develop. He is neither. I just don't see it.
