Not necessarily. How do you know what type of conversations go on between managers/DoFs/Chairman/players. They have their own communication networks and it is extremely possible that there have been calls made to enquire about the price and the answer is he is not for sale at any price. There is no need for that club (those clubs) to go public with it, just not for sale.
We probably only really hear of these bids/enquiries if the buying club think they can sway the player. It is obviously the case that Pickford loves it here so there is also a big chance that he himself has said there is no point, maybe to other players in the England set up or to footballing mates and it has been passed on.

"he has a few flaws in his game"... Yes, he does. He is a human, he is a keeper. But he is our BEST PLAYER, and one of the best in the Prem. He is defintely the best English keeper, by many miles.
He's made the club 100s of millions due to his performances playing a huge role in keeping us in the Division.
I think he's our highest paid player - deservedly.
In an era were hero's have been in scant supply for Young Blues, he is one for them.

You also have to remember throughout his really consistent period for us, we have been absolutely terrible.
We have seen many a player jump ship and put the wheels in motion to get out of here as quick as possible.
Pickford, for some mental reason, has been more than happy to stay here, which i just cant really understand why, so i just put it down to him being mad.

Its a very good point mate, if im being very honest, i was really surprised he signed a new contract.
I think when he leaves here - it will go back to Sunderland for a couple of years and he deserves that.

He's part of a team, the team kept us up not one player on his own. Pickford has pulled of some crucial saves but it's wrong to say he single handedly stopped us getting relegated
Not sure how there is a debate, apart from those looking to start one. Pickford has been in an utterly sh**e team for years. This means he is making a ridiculous number of saves and big decisions every match when compared to the likes of Becker. How well would he have faired playing in our team the last five years?!? There are proper WUM's on here and we should all just set them on 'ignore'. If nobody replies to them they'll soon go back to their own forum and be able to have a big w*** fest over Salah & co.

At the time, I'd put it down to us getting a few more quid when we do eventually sell him. I'm perhaps more surprised by the fact we've still got him, given the money troubles that have plagued us over the same period of time. How happy I am that we still do. Putting the goal at the weekend to one side, (he's not the only keeper guilty doing what he did) he's saved us far more times than not.
If it wasn`t for and Richarlison we`d have been relegated a couple of seasons ago.
Some of the recent stuff in this thread is just nuts.
