No player in the history of football has been the best player that they can be in every game they play.
Pickford has not dipped below a 7/10 in pretty much any game in the last 15 months since the Derby.
Hes been consistently good during that time.
People, like you (and others), are just waiting for him to make a mistake to reinforce your dated opinion on him. Which is dead sad.
Indeed.
Seen Allison, De Gea, Loris, Ederson, and that media favourite Ramsdale make howlers and yet Pickford's every error gets put under the microscope.
He's never let England down and is now showing form which is contributing hugely to our fight against relegation. His ability as a keeper was never in doubt for me, but his mental attitude has improved considerably over the past 18 or so months (think Ancelotti gets some credit for the latter).
Our defence in front of him has not been great to say the least, and as a goalie you need to have total confidence in them.
I think that he can become even better in an organising of his back line and also as an inspiration to his teammates.
Some on here have even advocated him for the captaincy.....not sure about that yet, but if he keeps up his form consistently it could happen.
Just shades Gordon for player of the year for me.
