Are they really going to punish Pickford retrospectively? Ridiculous. What's done is done. This could create a hideous precedent wherein every Prem match is scrutinised frame by frame for possible transgressions.

I can’t see that I’ve misunderstood that, and still think it’s nonsense.

on balance he did have a decent game, but no more than decent and a good representation of where he is at. Some great saves, some decent passing but still more errors and poor distribution

being fair to him, I think there is no way a young keeper should be coasting in the first team at this level with no pressure for his place and for such a long period of time. Hopefully Olsen is good enough to come in and force him to up his game, but Pickford would have benefitted several times during his time with us from being dropped for poor displays.

Yeah he made some excellent saves yesterday but that doesn't negate the howlers he made. Saving shots is his job, throwing the ball in his own net, not catching crosses is not.

At least if it's a retrospective three match ban we'll get to see how good or bad our new, temporary back-up keeper is

id prefer to see that Carlo recognises the problems and will drop him if it keeps up, rather than being forced into it
