Other way round for me. Long balls over the top it’s an absolute lottery whether he’ll come or not. The exact same ball could be played twice and he’ll come for one and not the other. The defenders have no idea what he’s going to do and it shows.

I think it's coached into them. There's no communication, likewise the defence are static, never, ever first to a loose ball.

He's definitely no Tim Howard (pre last two seasons). Howard was at least aggressive and came for balls. Pickford sits back and let's his defenders guess what he might do. Then he berates them.
