Coleman in his early days was a liability, but patience and guidance has seen him become the player he is.
We need to afford Kenny the same time and patience, as I have no doubt he is our future RB
Coleman had pace to burn, Kenny hasn’t.Hopefully Coleman will come back, the player he was. Kenny is not the answer, this is becoming more and more obvious.

If Coleman gets back to something approaching his best, I'd say that Kenny has shown enough to be considered an able deputy. Between cup ties and injuries/rotation, he should then get enough game time to continue his development.

I would much rather use academy products to plug gaps in the squad than bring in garbage like Martina on comparatively big wages.

Class player for England...on a steep learning curve with the 2 donkeys Bolasie or Lennon in front of him.

I suppose its a good thing for his development...play someone good ahead of him and he'll be class.

If it wasn't for Lennon playing an overly defensive game and sacrificing his attacking output to protect Kenny, the savage roastings he's suffered at the hands of Fraser at Bournemouth and Son yesterday would be much more commonplace.

Also Bolasie and Lennon have accomplished so much more than Kenny. Lennon is a multiple time England International (that's for the first team by the way, not an age group that has somehow convinced you he is Cafu's heir) and Bolasie was a standout for a Crystal Palace side that won promotion and maintained their top division and convinced us to part with over £20 million for him.

If Kenny is as good as you say he is he will demonstrate this regardless of who plays in front of him. So far all he has shown me is that he is well placed to this absolutely abysmal side.

What is obvious is he needs a rest and he needs time back with the reserves
This lad is without doubt one for the future, or in a better team

No offence but this is a really bizarre post.

Lennon was capped mainly as he was seen as a high potential player...what did he 'accomplish' with England? Getting dropped for his country and also dropped and sold by Spurs. The fans of Spurs will tell you all about his performances.

Mate, word of advice...don't use Bolasie and accomplishments to form a discussion point. He bloke is an utter clown. Palace were made up to get that ridiculous fee for him...just ask one of their fans.

I cant think of any successful team who has such poor quality players ahead of their right back whose constantly faced with 2 v 1 situations with the defence pulled to the left to cover a poor LB.

If Kenny had a top winger ahead of him the opposition couldn't double team him as they would be afraid of the counter...

EDIT: I mean honestly, lennon and 'attacking talent' in the same sentence?

He and bolaise rarely score...top players score goals.

I never said they were top players, but they have careers at the top level and there is no guarantee that Kenny will have. Both are fairly average players in fact, yet have achieved (especially in the case of Lennon) very long stints in the Premier league which not many youth team graduates can attest too - so obviously neither are bad as you are making out.

As for Kenny, it's clear that you have no idea how good he is and are making things up regarding his talent. I'm sorry to say but age group football at international level is no yardstick to judge players on - Dominic Solanke was the best player in that tournament and has looked utterly dog turd for Liverpool at senior level. You don't seem to appreciate how much of a lottery it is for young players to become solid senior professionals at Premier league level - very, very few of them make it.

It is well known on this forum that players of a certain age group can do no wrong in your eyes, so what I would ask is that you have a little patience and judge players, such as Kenny, for what they actually do on the pitch instead of spewing a load of bile of what they might do if certain other factors are in play. He'll either make it or he won't and it's up to him, nobody else to make it happen.

Oh and if you can't see that Lennon has played a defensive game to protect Kenny's inexperience this season I don't even know why I'm replying to you.

Aaron Lennon 1 goal every 10 games
Yannick Bolaie 1 goal every 16 games

But yeah...great points you're making.

I assume you didn't watch the tournament where solanke won the golden ball...because the general consensus was that he was nothing special in that tournament and wasn't the rightful winner.

In fact a huge amount of people would have picked Kenny.

Again though, wonderful post.

Honestly, I wonder if you even watch the games....Bolasie and Lennon dearie me.

And I wonder if you can even read. That's two posts in a row now were you literally haven't answered a single point I made. My first post was a criticism of your outlook that Kenny's poor form was a result of the player playing in front of him. My response is that if he's as good as you think he is, he would stand out regardless of who is playing in front of him. See John Stones in Martinez's second season. He was part of a terrible team but stood out anyway because of his quality. Jonjoe Kenny is not standing out in this terrible team.

Another point I made which you completely disregarded is that Aaron Lennon is playing a more defensive game to protect Kenny's inexperience, only natural. Lennon is doing exactly the same on the right as Siggy is doing on the left, protecting a vulnerable full back. Why are you quoting goal stats at me!? That has absolutely nothing to do with what I was talking about.

And something else your basic comprehension seems to have missed in my second post was that I said Lennon and Bolasie were average. In fact id sell both of them this window if right offers were made. So why are you signing off that post like I'm fan-girling both of them?

You are a strange, strange character my friend...

The point is surely that if Kenny had a decent player in front of him (e.g Andrei kanchelskis) then he would look better and wouldn't be 2 v 1 most games.

It's fine saying Bolasie is there or lennon is playing a defensive game...but as you can see from goal stats theyre useless players to sit in front of Kenny (as you even confirm). This is because the opposition know they can stream forward at will and neither Lennon nor Bolasie will offer any threat.

You can see how Kenny plays naturally with a decent midfielder in front of him (Dowell) for England U21s (and the youth teams by all accounts) in that he bombs forward and puts crosses into the box...all action. This is because the opposition full back wont bomb forward as he will be afraid of dowell.

On the flip side, Sigurdsson has a poor player behind him and so also cant play his natural game.

Lets say a peak Baines was at left back...Sigurdsson would logically play his natural game higher up the pitch as he feels safer.

Lets say a peak Kanchelskis was at right wing...Kenny would play his natural game as he knows the opposition will be worried.

Football teams need partnerships all over the pitch, Kenny has Holgate but nothing in front.

You are really showing a lack of understanding of how Kenny plays and comparing him and Bolasie/Lennon to Cuco/Sigurdsson the wrong way around.

In fact you shouldn't be comparing those 2 but comparing Sigurdsson and Kenny, because neither can play their natural game due to the dross in front/behind them.

Its really that simple. Hence the goal stats to show that these players offer nothing offensively and merely invite the opposition to relentlessly attack Kenny 2 v 1 every match.

You're backing the wrong horse here Zat.

The boy is an absolute liability.

A fit seamus would've saved us about ten goals this season.
