Why are players going on international duty with 2 games of the season left?
Because a lot of that U20 squad aren't first team starters at their clubs and the tournament starts very soon.

Why does the tournament start before the season is over, that's just really weird. Surely if his club want to use him in the next game, that takes priority over a kickabout on a local park with some other kids?
It doesn't start before the season is over but you still need to get the group together to work on tactics and stuff before the World Cup? You can't expect them to rock up at the end of May, week or two before the first game, and be prepared can you.
Players don't go off to join up with their international teams for the World Cup or Euros two weeks before the end of the season. Why doesn't this tournament start on a normal date like all the others? Just because it's under 20s?

The annoying thing is the FA have allowed Cetic to keep Patrick Roberts till the end of the season, but we've been forced to send our players
Have we? Or are we willingly letting them go?The annoying thing is the FA have allowed Cetic to keep Patrick Roberts till the end of the season, but we've been forced to send our players

Watched the U20 England game, for me he was outstanding. Seems to have everything a right back needs. First teamer next season

They also let Izzy Brown stay at Huddersfield and Tammy Abraham at Bristol City, who were fighting at either end of the championship. Think Abraham may end up with the U21s anyway but he is in the U20 age group. Wouldn't be entirely surprised if Roberts joins up with the U21s too as he's had a great last 6 months at Celtic. TBH, I'd be quite happy if Davies went with too. I fully agree with him not being with the U19 squad but the U21 competition is a different thing altogether and I think it would be fantastic experience for him. Plus I'd like to see how he does against the best of the youngsters from across Europe.we were willing to let them go cos the experience would do them good in the long term, the FA have agreed to not pick Davies for the u19 tournament later in the summer.
