BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | L | Liverpool | Benitez ponders offer for Turner

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has hinted that he is interested in signing Hull City defender Michael Turner.

Benitez has a number of injury worries in defence and saw Jamie Carragher limp off in the first half of Saturday's 2-1 friendly defeat by Atletico Madrid.

Speaking after the match at Anfield, the Spaniard said: "I was talking with Hull manager Phil Brown, but I will not talk about figures."

He added cryptically: "Maybe I was just talking to Phil about the weather."

Benitez has been linked with a bid for central defender Turner, as well as Portsmouth's Sylvain Distin.

He is believed to have offered £6m for Turner, with Hull wanting closer to £12m.

Thats why Lescott isnt for sale.

I've though about it.
And it's absolute tosh.
Please, not on here.

It's like Harry Potter, you want it to be true, but it isn't. It's all fits in to place.

I'm in this mood 'cos I'm watching Frost....detective cap on 'n' that.

Do you want to hear some crazy [Poor language removed]?

Lescott and that injury, everyone thought it meant he was going, well some, but then he played v Malaga, meaning he was just injured. Or did it?

England v Holland next week, Everton couldn't lie to the FA and say he was injured, so he had to play him v Malaga, just so it didn't seem to all of us "oh yeah, injured for our games then he's fit for England".

Call me crazy, but he's off.

Everton made it quite plain when he was injured. They even made it quite plain when he would be returning to the side, even when City fans prompted by the S*n were expecting him to be paraded at their ground.

I really can't see what Everton would be hiding.

I see you have a post count greater than mine. So you'll probably realise that calling someone a "pleb" is totally unacceptable to me and those on this forum. This isn't 'kipper and if you really want to use that type of language your better off on their forum. An apology would be acceptable.

With regards to citeh fans, I realise that there are some good eggs, but our new friend bluemooner, when he came on finally showed his true colours when he thought that Lescott was about to become their man.

As you already know fans have no direct say in any players destination but look at the Manny and Moutino (sorry if spelling is incorrect) threads on this forum and fans can wish, hope, or even as we have done on ocassion say that this player is better playing for Everton rather than the team they are currently with.

Finally, don't do it again, I don't scare and I refuse to let anyone bully me.

You dont scare and you dont let anyone bully you ? This is the internet not the local boozer . Honestly mate I am not trying to do either .

If you look closely you will see I apologised sraight after . My point was that if you start calling them sily names it makes us look just as bad . The best way to get your point across is , like Azzbot said to ask them to come back when they finish about ourselves .

Agree.. You want this transfer to be true since you've been saying it is going to happen any day now since June.

Did it ever hit you that Lescott might actually have been injured? A slight knock is enough for a manager to let a player rest for a friendly or two that doesn't meen anything.

Regarding the match that's coming up.. it's another friendly and if we'd told Capello that Lescott was recovering from an injury he might very well have been placed aside for it.

Don't try and bend things just to fit your desperate need to be right, when it can easily be interpreted the other way since what Everton have said also fits.

skysports : "Mark Hughes has warned that time is starting to run out in Manchester City's pursuit of Joleon Lescott"

ha ha ha warned who???!!

Clearly trying to prompt Lescott to put a transfer request in.

And they say they're not trying to tap him up. Any more bids will be rejected, unless he does want to pay £30m, so the only option is to ask Lescott publicly which is what he is doing to agitate for a move. Punishment for city for their placement of stories in papers and general unsettling a player? No.

More convinced that its not going to happpen.

hughes is acting like a classroom bully! as soon as someone stands up to him ie moyse and efc as 1 unit what does he do starts chatting s... in the playground to any fool who will listen, the man needs to pull his head out of his own arse and learn no means no

He really isnt making himself look too classy is he . He"ll learn though but it will not be in time to save him being sacked . Just wait until the going gets tough and he is faced with walking into a dressing room filled with premadonna"s . He has NEVER faced anything like that and I feel he hasnt the character to face them down .

i agree with that citeh are going nowhere fast under him will implode by the new year imo too many egos to many footballing mercenaries not enough genuine honest players for me

I would love it for them to finish about 10th, half the players will moan and Hughes will be sacked. The best thing about is the whole league will laugh their heads off.:lol::lol:
