Well he wasn't talking about individuals. He was talking about the club, and the fact City are more likely to win trophies. He's a shallow monster, no doubt about it, but he made a valid point - to which Evertonians don't like to hear.

If he was talking about the club he should look at our trophy cabinet.

But what he said was "they have a great squad, but they were probably just a bit short of experience in winning trophies."

To me that's aimed at the squad and maybe the manager. And I don't think he's wrong that we don't look like a trophy winning team like I said we were showed up at Wembley and at Lisbon. But I think he's wrong to point the finger at a squad of players who hasn't won anything (that isn't true) and I think he's lying if he thinks the city squad he joined had anything we missed in that area.

Very much this, ergo, he was motivated by the money as his primary motivation and he should refrain from taking a side swipe at Everton when it's not called for.

"Not to be disrespectfull to Everton, but at the time i used to be a player and fancied the chance to play in the Carling Cup Final"

- Lescott was quoted as saying as he tried to remove splinters from his posterieure.

If any footballer out there says they are not motivated by money they are massively wrong. Tim Cahill would go if he was offered enough money, as would Arteta. Tim said himself today on Goals on Sunday that you do get your head turned.

Just saying it's a reality of football, and we should try and understand that. However, the fact he's not playing proves that he was wrong to chase the cash and it's karma and all, but it happens, and it will continue to do so. It happens for us. I bet those who lost Guaye to us are moaning that he has gone chasing the cash, but he's not likely to play in the near future.

Its a bit of a contradiction though, both as far as i know where offered exits very recently but decided to commit to the clubs.

I can understand why Lescott left, i dont think it was the right move for him or the club, which has become evident. But the manner in which he left was the action of a massive snide, and remisent of Rooney who compleatley did the dirt on us.

This is a topic that will come up again and again, there has been a massive precdent this week with the Rooney deal, if top top players can earn 200k a week on average which seems to be the case after this deal then we are going to struggle to keep hold of the likes of Rodwell, Barcley and Hope when they hit their prime.

Well we don't know the money on the table? we don't know the clubs, the prospects or anything. So we really have to hold judgement. I think.

For example Duncan Ferguson and Gary Speed were both sold to clear debts, although many Evertonians would swear that Speed wanted to leave. I know for a personal fact that he didn't. Gary Speed is a mate of my uncle and I have also spoke to Speed myself. He swears he was sold to clear debts and he had a clause in his contract preventing him from speaking.

Point I am making is we assume everything, but often don't know half the story.

Id agree with that mate, Speed was shanghied, but that was at a different point in out history. In no way do i think Lescott was forced out, he saw thw wonga and said ill have some of that. Im not just saying that because he left us, i think we still have a couple of snides playing for us in The Yak and Heitinga, doesnt make them bad players but if they got a sniff of a better deal they would be gone.

It will happen in the professional game. It is the style Lescott and Rooney left in makes me think they are bad bad snides given the contribution we made to their careers. A week to go before the end of the transfer window and agitating for a move is something we didnt deserve with either them. We gave them the chance and foundation to be able to earn hundreads of thousands.

The Lescott commnet makes me laugh, given the fact one of his last games for Everton was an FA Cup final.

Agreed mate, this is the whole point of the last few pages really, and it's clear.

He left for the money so there is no need for him to be making snide comments about us and our ambition really, as if to pretend he moved for career moves himself.

He is a snide.

Yeah, to me the unforgiveable thing he did was waiting so long before putting in a transfer request. And, apparently, refusing to train and play after the request had been handed in.

But your wrong, as soon as Speed made the move he spouted his mouth off about how much bigger Newcastle was as a Club and that was from a "boyhood blue".

Hence the Gary, Gary, Gary shithouse Speed chant.
