Except that we haven't actually been any better as a team with him in goal. We have 12 points from 11 league matches this season with Joel in goal and 20 points from 19 league matches in his Everton career. It's certainly not his fault, but there isn't anything in our form with him and without him to suggest we'd have been any better off if he'd been the starter the whole time. I would have thought the last couple of months of results would have dispelled the idea that our poor performances had anything to do with who our goalkeeper was.

....he got his angle wrong for the home goal conceded against City but other than that he's been fine. The manager should've stuck with him when he last had a run of games and did well. It's a results game and that decision has subsequently proven to be a costly one for RM.

Proven how? We've been just as awful with Robles in goal as we were with Howard in goal. Worse, actually, going strictly by our results. Again, that shouldn't be seen as a criticism of him, just an indication that we have fundamental problems as a team that changing the goalkeeper won't fix.
Open your eyes mate. The team are no better collectively, and in fact worse. This just highlights how well Robes has done. Just imagine howard at anfield lol

Yes but Joel has earned us points when playing rubbish when we were scoring for fun Timmy was managing to let them in for fun - Joel has come out to catch the ball more in one match than Timmy has done in the last 18 months!
I stated it may cost RM his job, and it has been compounded by rubbish performances lately if he had bitten the bullet and played Joel we may have had a decent league position this season the two goal advantages Timmy gave away early doors were rediculous not to drop him!

That's exactly my point. One of the big arguments for changing goalkeepers was that the team had lost confidence in Howard and needed someone who could organize the defenders and distribute the ball better and command the six yard box better. It hasn't made a difference -- all of the intangibles changing goalkeepers was supposed to have brought haven't made the slightest bit of difference.
Okay, I'll imagine Howard at Anfield. We would have gone from the worst Everton performance in a decade to . . . the worst Everton performance in a decade.
Again, this isn't at all a criticism of Robles. He's done as well as anyone could possibly have hoped. It's just that it hasn't mattered at all. Just like how bringing Connolly and Davies on the other day was really nice and they looked really good, but in the end they didn't make a bit of difference.
The team was absolutely not playing better in Robles's first spell (I'm assuming you mean last season when Howard was injured and Robles had a run of matches). We won once in the eight matches he started back then. Again, Robles was just fine, but he didn't actually make anyone else play better.
