That's exactly my point. One of the big arguments for changing goalkeepers was that the team had lost confidence in Howard and needed someone who could organize the defenders and distribute the ball better and command the six yard box better. It hasn't made a difference -- all of the intangibles changing goalkeepers was supposed to have brought haven't made the slightest bit of difference. Okay, I'll imagine Howard at Anfield. We would have gone from the worst Everton performance in a decade to . . . the worst Everton performance in a decade.
Again, this isn't at all a criticism of Robles. He's done as well as anyone could possibly have hoped. It's just that it hasn't mattered at all. Just like how bringing Connolly and Davies on the other day was really nice and they looked really good, but in the end they didn't make a bit of difference.
