Joel Robles

Joel should of played at the weekend, not for the point of dropping Howard, but to give him some game time ahead of a big fixture against a much stronger side. He is going to go into a match raw and without game time for a month now, which is a bit unfair.
City is a massive game, the Spurs game wasn't as important. All this season is about now is cups, we can forget Europe, we wont go down, a focus on the cups is what we are all about now for the next few months. So even if Joel would of played on Sunday, and cost us a goal, i would accept that if it meant getting him ready for Man City.

Robles needs more than one game he needs a run in the team!

Howard's continuous flapping and mishandling of centres seems to have been noticed by the entire world.

Even RM refuses to dwell on the subject so I think Howard's file has now been moved to 'Pending'. Whether it is too late to save our season time will tell.

I am also unhappy that Robles goes into the City game cold.

Doug that's so naughty , and unfair, as Robles had only Barry, and the rest of the side where 18 to 21 years old oh and you forgot to say later on when Tim was injured Robles kept three clean sheets on the run can you please tell the forum if Tim has ever done this in the last few years or ever in his Everton career Doug I keep on asking you but you do not answer I wonder why???????
But you haven't explained why it matters that they were all in a row.

For the record, Howard has done it before a few times, most recently in Martinez' first season, but I'm still not sure why clumping clean sheets together is any better than spreading them out over five or six matches.

I could understand if we had Lloris wasting away on the bench, but it's Joel bloody Robles and he's at best bog standard.

Should he have been given a chance due to Howard's awfulness this year? Probably. Would it have made much of a difference? Probably not. Just look at the video, that's what he's capable of.

Very harsh on Robles I feel, the lad has never had a proper run in the side, when hes had a run out, hes been solid, shaky and decent at times, nobody knows how good he can be.

It was in a row because that's all the game time RM has given Robles in the prem lately that Robles has had so if Lukarku score three games on the run in your nonsense he would get dropped with your logic - Tim has had more than enough games over the last 18 months to see he is past it imo!
Can you put Howard's stats up for three clean sheets in the prem in the last 18 months like I asked as I feel robles should have not been dropped unless he played gash?
If you cannot it proves he is way past his best!

How do you know we have not seen him????????
and when he has played in the league cup his last two games he was magnificent!

Whilst I wouldn't day magnificent, he's been ok, and looked like an actual goalkeeper.

How people can properly judge Robles is beyond me though. It's impossible.

I reckon I have a few times said he's not good enough, in this very thread, but really he needs a run of games, either here or elsewhere, then a proper judgement can be made.

Calm down a bit. Nobody's attacking you. Just trying to have a reasonable conversation.

First off, that's not all the Prem time that Robles has gotten lately. Those three clean sheets were at the back end of seven league appearances last season. If you're going to get excited about how he played last season, you shouldn't ignore the first four matches of that run. After all, even if he does take four or five matches to get up to speed, those matches still have to be played.

Second, I already told you that Howard hasn't had three clean sheets in a row in the last 18 months. The last time he did it was Martinez's first season. In the last eighteen months, he's had twelve clean sheets scattered over something like 50 appearances.

Spot on look no one knows unless Robles gets game time - he should never been left out after three clean sheets and his MOTM performance v norwich in the league cup - he looks to command his box the defence looks happier - his Ball distribution is faster , and better than Tims -
Also if he turns out to be poor he is then not good enough to be a no 2 Keeper - If RMN would take is faith away from Tim he could save us a fortune by going out and spending a fortune on a top keeper!
Also remember Degea first 10 games for Unt he looked awful Unt fans wanted rid of him - we have his understudy standing 6ft 6 inches a defence scared of crosses, because of super glue tim on his line the flapper when he comes out, and Robles is more agile aged 25 than Tim Robles comes in has a very good game = dropped ?????????????

I don't think he'll be our 1st choice keeper next season, but I'd happily give it to him between now and the end of this season

I've said it before, asking "Joel or Howard" is similar to asking "What would you rather drink, dirty dish water or battery acid?"

Joel is better than Howard and, in a normal team with a competent first choice keeper, he'd be decent back up. He wouldn't be my first choice in other scenario's than this one, but he's had some good outings this season and I believe he should be rewarded with the starters jersey

He played in the final because Al Hasbi was injured, however when he was fit Al Hasbi was chosen over Robles for the semi final.

Al Hasbi was considered the better keeper. A keeper capable of this is better than Robles.

Your full of bull.
Al Habsi was on the bench in the FA Cup final.

Don't let that get in the way of your 'facts'.
