Every time I see his adorable goofy face my heart weeps for him. Literally can't do any more to nail down a first team spot ahead of the other clown, I'm surprised he hasn't handed in a transfer request yet. At least we have half a chance of winning tomorrow anyway with him in goal

Martinez was interesting when he said that Robles has been great and has pretty much done enough to secure a first team spot.

Which is great. But Martinez' words clearly show Howard is the no.1.
Not imo they don't.

He was asked if Howard was still his No.1 and he swerved the question with this answer;

There’s nothing to comment on that. We’re preparing for tomorrow. The weekend was very frustrating. But now we are looking forward to the game tomorrow.

In the past he'd have said definitely, he's got phenomenal character, or some such like bobbins. His swerving of it points to him finally having seen the light.

I think I need to listen again.

"Joel has been fantastic."

On Tim Howard:

"There’s nothing to comment on that. We’re preparing for tomorrow. The weekend was very frustrating. But now we are looking forward to the game tomorrow."

They are his words

From 19:50 can sort of take it in two ways but again at the end of that segment he says that Joel has been terrific when hes played and has been paramount and that hes ready and reliable.

I guess I feel resigned to the inevitable mate.

Ah well. Let's hope Joel makes himself undroppable in the next 2 games.

Don't do it to yourself mate, it's the hope that gets you

Robles could keep two clean sheets and make a Gordan Banks style save from a Aguero header, and Howard would STILL start the next league game. Don't do it to yourself
