And they picked them up again against Bournemouth? What about last season when Robles looked so good with Howard out but we still got only six points in six matches?
It's puzzling. I genuinely think that Robles isn't worse than Howard, but I can't figure out why we do so poorly with him in goal. It's not even as if he's conceding more goals than Howard, even after the last few disasters. Maybe he's just been unlucky with his timing, but we're looking at more than twenty matches over the last two seasons and it's weird the way that Bournemouth match just sticks out like a sore thumb, both in terms of the actual result and in terms of how we played. Is his distribution doing something strange to the way we attack or something?
You mean the Bournemouth game where howard let the ball go through him. We won that purely because Bournemouth our absolutely crap away from home and we still struggled.
The 6 last year he was so so for the first 2 then really good in the 4, difficult games if i remember right
This year when he came into the team, he and the team were doing well, conceding considerably less than when howard was in goal and getting positive results.
The last several games theres clearly been a break down between the players and bobby and as a result the majority of the squad are barely turning up. Nothing to do with Joel, in fact We could have de gea in goal atm and it wouldn't matter. The sheer volume of shots Joels faced in the last few games is an embarrassment to the players in front of him. Countless times players have ran through on the 1v1 . We could have easily conceded 6-7s in some of them games if it wasnt for Robles.
Bit of a bad one today but overall hes been one of if not the best performer since he came in
