Once again, how do you know? Hes played a handful of games, and no one can dispute hes been getting better by the game.

Lets judge him at the end of the season, think we can all agree the bearded clown should be no more, we cant afford to go out and buy a 20 mil keeper which is around the going rate for a consistently top goalkeeper. Give joel til the end of the season and bring in someone like Nyland to compete with him

I watched him for Wigan and I've seen him for us, he's inconsistent and irratic and has shown no sign of that ever being any different. Like I said he'll be an able deputy but he won't make it as a first choice keeper for a team that has ambitions for success because of these floors.

Floors are what you walk on! think you mean flaws.

I always find it amazing how when it comes to everton, there's always 1 or 2 people who seem to see something completely different to everyone else.

It's harsh to write him off already, he's a young lad who is growing in confidence. As a defensive unit we've looked solid for the last few games and he's a part of it.

Of course he might not improve as much as would be required for him to become a top keeper, but we won't find out if we write him off so soon.

It's painfully the obvious if you can judge a player. No way does he have the ability or potential to be number one goalie for a top 4 or aspiring to be top 4 side.
So youve now decided you are a good judge of player? As someone else has already said, we cant blob the money we beed to on a keeping position. Joel is talented and it would be unfair on the lad not to develop that talent. He's big imposing and commanding. He has his faults but he's a better all rounder than Howard or most if the keepers we can afford.

He is getting a bit better no doubt about it. I'd prefer to leave him in until the end of the season and give him a real chance to prove he can play in a top team. He is big and agile and looks like a very good keeper most of the time but it is the howlers he has now and again that he must eliminate if he wants to remain on team sheet

Every goalie has a howler in them.

been so much better than howard. we've looked so much better with him and stones there than howard and distin, the margin has been vast, 2 clean sheets in a row in the league is a positive.

He kept a clean sheet yesterday but that was down to Jags bailing him out with a great clearance and Palace not having their shooting boots on. He's adequate cover at best but he's not got the concentration or consistency to be our number 1 keeper.
Are you real?
Goalies don't get clean sheets, teams do. Apart from dropping one under a lot of pressure, he saved and caught everything. His throws are also becoming an important part of our play.
Give him time. We've still got problems, but he's not one of them

Joel did well yesterday..at least he will come out and collect the ball to relieve the pressure, something Tim never does.keep him in RM he can only get better ...Mr Howard your time is up.

Goalkeepers don't keep clean sheets if they continually make avoidable errors.
