Did nothing wrong. Wasn't far off getting to the penalty kick and made some decent saves.
Very one footed is the only thing I can find to criticise, which might be an issue when the balls played back to him on his left peg and he's under pressure from an attacker.

Not sure I agree with that, whenever he had time he put it on his right, otherwise was quite happy to use his left.

He did fine today, managed to keep hold of a couple of headers/shots that were difficult too. Made up for not holding the ball in the first half with that save.

If you saw his kicking against Fulham in the league cup then you'd be concerned about both of his feet.

Don't want to open a while new thread for this but is Howard banged for one game or two? He was on 4 yellows, would a red bump that up to the 5 for a suspension?

FROM THE FA WEBSITE RULEBOOK
2 yellow cards - 1 match
Denying obvious goal scoring opportunity - 1 match
Offensive/insulting/abusive language or gestures - 2 matches
Serious foul play/violent conduct/spitting at an opponent or any other person - 3 matches

Roberto has an interesting selection problem now - Joel is obviously going to play on Sunday but if he was due to play (only) QPR as well we'd be alternating the keepers in the next 5 games (6 if you include today) which is not ideal.

He's got the potential to be a very good goalkeeper. I think he self doubts a lot. But he'll do a good job tomorrow, and he'll do well when he becomes our first choice in a year or two.

Hate to taint this, see though the pattern recently which has seen young players come in and pretty much make the positions their own-- example Oviedo/baines

I think as long as no errors he may well stay 1st choice from now on- big call but martinez has form with him at wigan and paid a fee for him.
