I look at Joe, I see Everton. Soz for the cliche. Nobody else aside from Bally or Kendall Or Labby. God rest their souls comes close.
I loved him as a player and as our manager. Losing him set us back 5 years. He scored in the first game I saw Everton play.
Remember his "Sorry about your dream final" quote to the press when we knocked spurs out in the semi.
Had the privilege of meeting him the day of the Goodison 3-3 derby in Martinez' first season (you can see how excited I was by the stupid look on my face).
I'm from Lowestoft (East Anglia) and he spent time chatting to me about his time as a player and manager down in my neck of the woods at Norwich and Ipswich, and he was recalling how he used to enjoy his days out in Oulton Broad where I now live.

Shame our club was so poorly run for the years before, during and after his tenure otherwise he might have really achieved with Everton beyond the one cup.

Wasn't supported at the right time.
Yet again with Everton over the last 2 decades, when we get near we don't support the Manager to push forward.
That's all I can wish for with Mr Moshiri and our next Manager.
