Joe Royle discussion thread

I love listening to his insights and stories when he does the odd bit of commentary. Love the man. Great thread Groucho!

Had the privilege of meeting him the day of the Goodison 3-3 derby in Martinez' first season (you can see how excited I was by the stupid look on my face).

I'm from Lowestoft (East Anglia) and he spent time chatting to me about his time as a player and manager down in my neck of the woods at Norwich and Ipswich, and he was recalling how he used to enjoy his days out in Oulton Broad where I now live.

A truly top gent.

Should have achieved so much more really as manager.

That 95/96 side was a very good side. Had good players and played football the right way.
Wasn't supported at the right time.
Yet again with Everton over the last 2 decades, when we get near we don't support the Manager to push forward.
That's all I can wish for with Mr Moshiri and our next Manager.

I love Joe Royle. As if there's anyone who doesn't......

My nan loved him as a player, let's face it we all love Joe Royle. In a nice bit of relief from worrying about Wednesday and Saturday's games, let's talk about Joe Royle in an attempt to foster some positivity.

If you don't love Joe Royle, lash yourself in the nearest bin.

We should have sacked Martinez weeks ago and put Joe in charge until the end of the season.
