Joe Mercer Suite - your thoughts...

The corporate seats in the Park End are good, I imagine that the Main Stand ones will still be subjected to obstructed views, though!

I often go to the 1878 suite. Be warned that the suggestion of "Director's Box" seating is very misleading. There must be about 500 comparable seats in the centre of the main stand. That might be an overestimate but its at least say 400+. The food is decent for an average 4 star hotel buffet meal. It's all very friendly and having a drink waiting is great but there's very little atmosphere. If your missus isn't massively into footy then it'll help a lot.

I did the hosp suite earlier in the season for my brothers birthday, unless your absolutely minted its know where near worth the money. Good seats but so is mine in the uppler gwlady. You also have to pay for your ale and grub. It is handy and comfortable and a fella came in and did impressions we had a great laugh but probably worth 100 each but its defo not worth what they charge.

Ideal for business people that expense it and use it to entertain clients but not the man on the street.

The Labone is the one mate. Top scran, booze included and quite a few players have seats in there for their wives and family so you'll see them afterwards. I've been lucky enough to work for a firm who has 4 tickets in there and it's the absolute business.

For that money I'd just get a decent seat, ie not obstructed and depending on your preference get a seat near the pitch if you want to be near the players or high up if you want to be able to clearly see the way play is developing and blow your money in a top restaurant in town before or after the game.

I loved the marquee, why did they stop it?

Because commercially we have people employed by the club who really shouldn't be. Those in charge of them, including the senior management in this department, need to push them to generate income that is comparable to other clubs of similar status and if/when they fail then they need to be held accountable for that. As it is there's a lack of ambition and a lack of incentive to drive the business forward as their jobs are too safe.

****ing hell 350 quid and you still have to buy your food and drink? The cheeky bastards.

Anyway goodison is all about the wooden pillar and the low roof. Part of the experience.

Food may be great - but it's not even included in the cost~!

...spitting distance of Bill? That's it then, i'm sold. *starts working on a fat greenie for him

I do like the idea of getting there early though, getting some good photos, checking out ex-players (and their tasty wives) and having the best seats/view in the stadium.

...hard to justify the cost though...not sure what to do.

You only go round once my friend ( well in this incarnation anyway ) you can't take it with you, so spunk some dosh and make yourself have it gangnam style

coming over for vacation dragging the wife to two other football games, so i figured it would be good for her. do you still have access to the rest of goodison park?

Wherever you go in the ground you are restricted to just that area, you can't walk around the place once inside as all of the stands are separate areas that are blocked off from each other.
