Genuinely, why so bitter?

Put yourself in his shoes though.

22-years-old, from Barnsley. Chance to quadruple your wages and move to a club that is in the CL, competing for the league title and has currently the best / most renowned manager in world football.

'Giant of the English game' comment irked me. But I'm over it. Don't worry I won't be losing any sleep.

Im more interested in his last 3/4 years, mate. You know, the years that Joe Hart has won about 5 trophies, won golden gloves and been first choice for England.
Englands first choice!....for me not that impressive.Obviously you rate him.Me not so much.

not sure anyone had mentioned it but something else hart brings to the table is knowing what success is.

how many players in the squad even now know how to be successful? Mirallas? that is about it and then not sure he is arsed to be honest.

but getting someone like hart in who is vocal knows what the team should be doing to be successful. Having that voice alone to pick standards up because he isn't some no mark johnny foreigner, he is multi league winning and cup winning goalkeeper in this league.

It was just the same as when Phil Neville was signed, his voice and knowing what it took to be a successful team is what moyes used as his crutch for his remaining years. Neville might not have been the best player on the pitch but he still could demand standard improved because he was part of a winning team for years.

Prob with Hart I reckon he would only consider a year with us not long term. Would have his eye on a move to Arsenal (Cech getting on a bit now) or somewhere else. If we sign him has to be permanent and long term for me.

What if that year saw us qualify for Europe, announce a new waterfront stadium and generally raise our stock across the football world? Arsenal wont be as eye catching in those circumstances. Big if like.
