Gas prices in America are wild.
When I moved here 16 years ago the average gas price was about $3.80
Today it's about $3.60
And that's not accounting for inflation.
Food, education, housing, health, and most everything else has gone up 50-100% or more but not gas.
We're the second biggest contributor to global carbon emissions and cars are the biggest contributor here.
So what does Biden do...

Typical political move to keep gas prices from spiking during the summer. Only in an election year.

All hail american influence in the middle east?

Veterans on the streets but the nouveau riche can load up the SUV. God bless america.

To be fair its not Americas fault that our Governments will screw us on tax for just leaving the house.

Fully expect an air tax within the next 10 years.
When thames water goes under (oh the irony) the water tax will sting (much like the tides around the uk). The same feckers that dreamt up the window tax.
The insanity and ineptitude of refusing to go after the enabled wealthy and to keep screwing the poorest that've accumulated very little anyway, ought to be their undoing.

But it's immigrants, and disabled, and foreign wars, and work shy nurses, and and and.

It amazes me that thatcher is already so easily forgotten. How many times the same lesson needs learning.

The sooner britannia is dead and gone the better, roll on the future, as painful and full of want as is just. At least it will be earned by the masses instead of the callous few to inflict on the many. Ding ding... first stop....

Funny you mention this, because I just posted something similar on a Reddit thread a few days ago where someone asked what products were still a great deal even after the past few years. Obviously there are peaks and valleys, but gas has very consistently averaged out to ~$3/gal where I live for 15+ years. I can’t think of anything else that’s been so resistant to inflation, yet people moan about it going up nonstop.

As for what Biden is doing, it’s a smart political move in an election year. There are a shocking number of people in this country who will walk into the polling booth in November and cast their vote almost entirely based upon the price of a gallon of gasoline.

Problem is it’s always election season

In 2003, we moved to where we currently live and the average price of a gallon of gas in our area was $1.62. Adjusted for inflation, today that's $2.76/gal.

I put gas in my wife's car yesterday and it cost $2.79/gal.

California, the state with the highest income tax rate, is actually going to start taxing cars by the mile they drive because apparently they had too many people go electric after incentivizing the crap out of it, and they’re now missing out on gas taxes. I hate everyone.

I don't get people cryarsing about petrol prices in the States. I fill my tank when it's empty.
Costs me about $50 (£40), seems cheap to me. $50 isn't even a family meal at a restaurant or a Playstation game.
This is also an issue. Can’t hardly feed 4 at McDonald’s for less than that anymore.
