In recent days I have been watching a few documentaries about Iran and their culture is very impressive. The iranian people really want to have a better relationship with the US so I hope Biden makes it happen.

I agree, when watching these documentaries one would think that Iranian are Europeans. Too bad religion can have such a devastating impact on a population.
You should really be saying "Too bad US imperialism can have such a devastating impact on a population". Religion isn't the main reason Iran is no longer a cosmopolitan democracy. The CIA assassinated a democratically elected leader of Iran over oil and the US-installed puppet Shah was such a horror the clerics seemed a welcome alternative. That's why Iran is the way it is today.

Tehran is on my to-visit list. I've known so many Iranians over my lifetime, including a childhood friend that I knew in Mexico who taught me chess, and they were all great and amazing people; it never made sense to me how the whole country was villified for the actions of a far-right ideological/religious movement.
