Looking forward to seeing him come on in this years Carling cup defeat to minnows with 15mins to go : D

Will take him a year or so so settle in & get the pace, I really hope that he can make the grade. He appears to have the physical attributes that many of our own academy graduates lack (whats in the water over there anyway).

All in all, i'd rather a few signings like this every season than splurging it all on one position. Even if only 1 in 5 ever makes an impact we will still be ahead massively.

It seems odd to me that we have signed two forwards ( Beckford and Joao Silva). Seen as we only play one up front most of the time, do you think Moyes will try playing this lad wide right? or "in the hole"?

One year and a bit back we didn't have any fit strikers at all. I bet we'll still play whichever of Yak and Saha is fit by themselves most of the time. Beckford and Silva will be on the bench, unless they really impress, I would guess. We always talk about squad strength, don't we? I reckon they'll be replacing Vaughan and Jo as people we bring on if we need to chase a game.

I think one or two of our forwards may be moved on....depending on the succeses of Beckford and Silva

H's young. He has time.

Dont big strikers normally develop a bit later?

Can't be bothered to read the entire thread so I'll say that I hope he does well for us...

...and that we can sell him 3 years for 25M GBP to Queens Park Rangers who will be leading the Premiership by that time as all the usual suspects will have been demoted due to going into administration.
