Player Valuation: £10m
Sorry if this has already been discussed but is jo banned from playing against city because of prem rules or can mark hughes let him play if he wants?

I reckon Hughes will be quite happy Jo isn't playing. Wouldnt want his own £18m striker scoring the hat-trick that gets him sacked (y)

BUT...Slightly off topic - but I'm sure the rules changed regarding loan players that have been bought mid-season from another club.

Remember when Howard was ineligible to play against Manure 2 seasons back even though we bought him? Manny scored that peach and we were 2-0 up but Turner dropped a bollock and we ended up losing 4-2?

Well the FA scraped that after that season. So any loan player bought during the season are eligible to play against their former club now.

Didn't the rules change and Pennant played against the RS when they first loaned him out?

Wasn't that one of Fergie's stipulations in the contract at the time? Im sure he done it with another of his keepers.

I'm pretty sure it was the fact a loan player cant play against the club loaning him out, and that stayed the same even if he was bought in the same season. So say we loaned Howard at the start of the season, bought him in January of the same season, he wasnt able to play against Man Utd.

I think Harry Redknapp had a smilar thing with Diarra or someone (I cant remember) and had a big whinge about it moaning that because they'd bought him, he should be able to play anyone....the FA the changed the rules not long after.

Did Pennant play against the RS?

Yeah the Howard thing was a gentleman's agreement. The FA didn't seem too pleased about it, conducted an inquiry IIRC. Nobody was reprimanded on either side though.

Pain in the arse that, surely we'd've won with Howard in goal after Stubbsy and Manny's respective wonder-strikes?

My mistake... And yes, we'd have won haha.

Anyway, Wiki says -

In the English Premier League </wiki/Premier_League>, players on loan are not permitted to play against the team which holds their registration (section 7.2 of rule M.6). This can mean that one of the 'big' clubs might loan out a promising young player to an opposing team in the Premiership and then enjoy watching the player do their very best against the 'big' team's rivals, whilst not being available to do any damage to their 'owning' club.

Usually a load of shiit but someone can clear it up I guess.
