I still beleive we lack an anchor in midfeild whom could complement Felaini and Arteta, Bullards a really terrific player and if we got him for 5mill or anything under its a steal. Agreed we do need winger mate, wouldnt it be nice to get Obinna and Love on loan with views to permenent deals as well.

Ah well you can live in hope!

For me he was the best player on the feild when they played at Goodison and his stats are up there with Arteta's and Gerrards, yeah i know stas and all that but hes a good footballer.

I think he could be that deep lying midfeilder we are looking for, while i think he could complement Arteta and Mo-Fro in the centre. I kike Ossie but Bullard is a better player.

He's not a deep lying midfielder though, he's attacking. Danny Murphy plays the defensive/deep lying role for Fulham and has done for a while now.

He's very similar to Osman probably less technical but a better passer. There both lightweight but they both work hard and are very tenancious. That's who I'd compare him to. There's not a massive difference. If Bullard had to play the defensive midfield role Osman has had to play for the majority of the season he'd struggle just like Osman has. In the attacking midfield role there not much difference at all.

If we brought him in he'd have to play in one of the attacking roles. The roles Cahill and Fellaini occupy. I wouldn't have him over either and Arteta is simply different class, there's no comparison.

As I said I'd rather we went for a winger or a defensive midfielder. Positions that need strengthening. Bullard wouldn't fit into either role and it'd be a waste of 5 million in my opinion.

I would have taken him in the summer when we where desperate but not now. We have Osman, Cahill, Fellaini and Arteta who can all play in the position he would occupy.

Not for me.

I'd love to see Obinna come in on loan. I suppose I'm getting carried away with the hype, though. I haven't even seen him play yet. But the buzz that has gone with the mention of his name is pretty exciting.

Re: Bullard. I reckon he can play the role you refer to, but I would think he sees himself more in the Fellaini role, as someone that can move around a little and get up there and score some goals. We've got both Cahill and Fellaini to do that. I'm not saying that Bullard isn't capable, though. If either of the above left, I think he'd be a decent addition. However, since we are scraping the barrel at the moment, I feel he's a luxury we cannot afford.
 
If we had 20-25m to spend i would say yea get him, but the fact that we are gonna have buttons to spend i kinda agree with toccy. We need to use what little money we have got and spend it on areas where its needed, which in my eyes is at least 1 winger, a DM and possibly a striker.

We have players who are the same and better players in the squad, hes a fairly talented lad and would be a great asset for any squad, but hes not what we need at this present time.
 

Moyes will not spend 4m on a 30 year old, the only player over 30 he's ever given more than a 1 year contract to is Pip

The JL rumour stems from the way he has been playing since the start of the season and his body language. He's publicly said he wants to play in the middle but unless Yobo or Jags get injured he hasn't got a hope in hell
 
Hodgson was on the box yesterday saying, that its Bullard asking for big wages that is pushing the issue, and no other club has come in with an offer.imo we dont need him and although a busy player doesnt do enough for me.
 
We've got enough players that play in the center of the park.

We need a wide player(s) and a striker.

If we are going to get a center of the park type of player, it needs to be someone who's quite a bit more creative than Bullard.
 

Isn't Bullard 30? If that is the case then maybe he's worth only about 4M. Given that we'd have to sell to get him, who would we sell? Fulham might be interested in Baines but Baines may only be worth 3M at best now. Ossie is probably only worth 1.5-2.5M. We can't get rid of any strikers.

Bullard is way better than Ossie. I love Ossie but even now and then Bullard can take over a match. Ossie can't.

I'm still dreaming of the day Valencia is rampaging down the RW for us.

If Osman was given a full season in the attacking midfield role like Bullard he'd play to a similar level. But that's not the case, Osman is continually being shifted outwide due to injuries. He's never really been given a fair crack at one position to be honest.

If Bullard is better it's not by much. I'd put them on a similar level in all honesty.
 
I liked an idea of signing him during the summer, but now when Arteta is playing well in the middle, I don't want Bullard (even if I rate him) anymore. We have (or should have) other priorities.

I do really like both players. It would be nice to have Bullard for free kicks because his are nasty and though I think Ossie has some deficiences, I'll never complain about him being in the side. I don't think Bullard is a necessity it would be more like a luxury (unless Arteta would leave/get horribly injured then we'd need a playmaker). Remember we have to sell to buy so getting anybody may not make us better. Unless we get Valencia (y)

Valencia will cost alot of money, you'll have to lower your sights a bit sadly. I'd love him here though.
