Doesn't say a lot for our medical team though does it. Whatever the reason there seems to be a genuine issue with keeping some players fit. I'm sure every teams fans would probably point to players like that in their squads but we always seem to have one.

Honestly, if I was Branthwaite I'd be looking to move on, ideally to Spain where it's warmer with less games and intensity. Would probably suit us as well if we could get an ok fee for him. I'd be really sad to see him go as I think he's ace but I really don't see him staying fit for an extended period.
In fairness we've barely had any injuries this season. Definitely amongst the teams with the fewest injures.

Only players with extended periods out were Dewsbury-Hall for a month, and obviously Grealish for half a season and Branthwaite for most of the season.

Yes key players, but we had money in the summer to create a squad with quality in backup, and completely ballsed it up, which is why we've suffered.

Look at the injuries Spurs and Liverpool have had, for example.

Branthwaite just seems to be an outlier in that he keeps getting injured.

Yes, in a general sense we've been ok this season, I was more meaning that we always seem to have one (sometimes fairly key) player who struggles to stay fit. Branthwaite, DCL, Gbamin (not key because he never bloody played but could've been), even McCarthy going back a bit. Rodwell also strikes me as one who had various niggling injuries but maybe I'm wrong on that

Certainly more positive than the misery brigade declaring his career to be over after chatting to AI about anatomy.
Well, I confess to being one of the misery brigade as from the level of pain and the bit he was clutching it looked like it COULD have been a full rupture. Chuffed I was wrong.

But there was no AI chat just a career as a PT and a degree in sports physiology - while it's easy to get ahead of yourself on here (like I did) it's also easy to dismiss other people without knowing anything about them (like you did).
FWIW I learned to stop dismissing people I don't know aged 10 when I gave it the big one to some kid walking past the back lane me and my mates played in and got a punch in the mouth 🤣

Well, I didn't dismiss anybody mate. I stayed silent on the matter until the club released a statement and then poked fun at those who said his career might be over.

This is all good news except “will now undergo rehabilitation at Finch Farm with Everton Medical Team”

Rolls Royce of a defender. For me his reading of the game sets him apart from the rest. It's something you can't teach I think.

It's no coincidence that he always seems to have time on the ball, or gets there just ahead of the forward time and time again.

His game is calmness personified and it spreads throught the team and certainly the back four.

If we get Stones back and have both of them, our CB pairing would be incredible. 2 rolls Royces.

Would just be a case of trying to get both of them fit to ever appear along side each other.

When we had Stones and now as we have seen with Branthwaite, this is the level of quality the very best sides have.

We nearly landed Gabriel under Brands and hes another of top quality.

Moyes was good with bringing in the likes of Jagielka and Lescott plus Stones in his first stint.

What we need is for him to be bringing in the next Stones and Branthwaite this summer. Then when Keanes contract is up next year and Tarkowskis the year after...we already have their replacements.

Im amazed Tuchel hasnt called up Branthwaite yet. The best English CB with Guehi.

Gabriel would never have worked with us. He’s like Van Dijk and gets away with absolute murder every game. If he did the stuff he does at arsenal with us, he get sent off every game and give away a bunch of pens.

JB is far better since he can (and has to) defend without being an absolute grok

These players who "get away with it" would also be able to murder players on the pitch in an everton shirt.

If we had a few of them and were in the top 6 each year. A sky fave.

Thats how the league works.
