I've just spoken to him. He said he had half a blue doughnut with Dibling after the game and felt absolutely sound. He's just done a 100 metre sprint under water in 14 seconds so safe to say he's playing on Saturday.

What a footballer he is though. Gets the ball, absolutely nothing on, half a second to find something before he gets closed down, and he perfectly lofts a through ball for a run that wasn't even happening a moment ago.

The length of this one particular absence isn’t the issue, it’s the fact he’s picking up repeated hamstring injuries. We need to prioritise a centre back this summer along with everything else.

How about just a good pair of hamstrings

I might be wrong but I think that was unrelated, sure that was an impact thing that had him struggling for a minute rather than a muscle issue.

You’re right. Wasnt he shoulder charged off the ball by Gapko a couple of minutes before the injury. I just thought he was winded when he was on his haunches!

Wasn't last time similar ? Our esteemed medical team reckoned didn't need an operation, rest would do, 2 months later he needed an operation, thus over half a season out. Or have I got that wrong ?

Rolls Royce of a defender. For me his reading of the game sets him apart from the rest. It's something you can't teach I think.

It's no coincidence that he always seems to have time on the ball, or gets there just ahead of the forward time and time again.

His game is calmness personified and it spreads throught the team and certainly the back four.
