I think this is more about the lad's career possibly being under threat than it is about our luck. My heart goes out to him. Regardless of how minted he is, having a lifetime dream career suddenly put in doubt at 23 years old will be utterly devastating, especially after working his way up to become one of the best CB's in the Premier League.

Another sicknote on the books, no big miss as we were around 6/7th til he came back. Will never fulfill the potential he had, and everyone can see now why no big teams or England are interested in him.
He’s literally our best player, he’s a huge miss regardless of how we did without him.

I like the guy but I never forgot Moyes putting Dan Gosling back on with torn knee ligaments to protect 0-0 in a mid table nothing match at Wolves. It was incredible ignorance and, even then, absolute dinosaur behaviour.
