We will see over the next couple of weeks if the manager thinks Branthwaite is ready.
There is the advantage he would be alongside the vastly experienced Tarkowski which should help him settle.
It would be a huge bonus to us if he is ready now.

They’ve just signed Harvey Barnes so can see him off out on loan at some point in the next couple of windows.

I think we will start being linked to some once holgate (most likely) leaves.

If branthwaite is 2nd choice then we need a 3rd choice as need to bump Keane further down.

Can't see him or Garner playing much of a part (if any at all) at Bolton on Tuesday night. Need to be eyeing starting XI for Stoke at the weekend though.

Gordon is not the most talented player to come through our Academy in recent years, I’d give that to Kieran Dowell. But Gordon is the one who applied himself the most, the most determined to progress , getting a personal trainer in , chapping on Carlo‘s door etc. if Branthwaite and Garner have the same application and desire to succeed I’ll be very happy.

He rushed back as they have just signed Barnes from Leicester ..... he again will struggle to get into their side .....

Players like Braithwaite need to be kept & used IMO he has had a successful loan period - so let's not dishearten the lad IMO ....

we already have 5 which is too many for a team not playing european football. 1 in, 2 (holgate and either keane or godfrey) out hopefully.

I think the signing of Harvey Barnes is strange, so soon after signing Gordon.
I wonder would Newcastle like to revisit their purchase of Gordon in January already ?
